Prenatal visits are encouraged during the developmental stages of your baby. We take the time to address your physical and emotional needs to ensure that your prenatal experience is one that you'll enjoy. Services during your visit can include urine assessments, blood pressure testing, nutritional counseling, and fetal heart measurements.
We suggest that you come directly to our center as soon as you've gone into labor. There you will experience the freedom to move around as needed, eat what you'd like when you'd like, and relax in whatever way feels good for your body. The combination of support and comfort from your family and our team, is beneficial in facilitating your birth.
To ensure that you receive the best possible care for you and your newborn baby, our team will stay in close contact with you after your birth to provide support, physical exams, assist with breastfeeding, and answer any questions you may have. All of these services can be provided to you in the comfort of your home. Our goal is to stay connected with you for a healthy development.
I have been passionate about birth, babies, and breastfeeding for most of my life. Supporting mothers and babies started with me helping my mother and her friend while they were pregnant and in postpartum at 13 years old. Babysitting my baby sister was fun and I took pride in caring for her. I begin to explore the desire to learn more about mothers and babies by watching Dr. T. Berry Brazelton's shows on infant development and taking courses in college that taught me about growth and development of babies starting with conception. One of my favorite places on campus was the infant lab. Years later while pregnant with my only child my daughter I was taking Lamaze classes. This routine was suddenly interrupted by the early arrival of my daughter. I was afraid and not fully aware of what having a preterm birth meant for myself and my daughter. I wanted additional support outside of my immediate family to get us through this difficult time. I began to research and discovered that doula was what I needed for support. This planted the seed for me wanting to become a doula. Currently, I am a DONA International trained doula working towards my certification.
I live in the Fulton County area my daughter is attending college in Alabama. In addition to being a doula and mom I love cooking, traveling, and reading.
